Hello pilots!
The wait is finally over. Balancing a full-time job, family life, and indie game development is always a wild ride, but today I’m incredibly thrilled to share the very first public, playable print-and-play (PnP) build of FSL: Fleet Signal Lost.
If you love punishing space roguelikes, tactical resource management, and rolling dice, this project was designed specifically for you.
FSL is a crisis-management space roguelike in a Roll & Write / Print & Play format. You are the captain of a lone, damaged ship fleeing through hostile star systems. Your goal is simple yet brutal: manage your decaying systems, survive deadly combat encounters, and reach the final sector before your fleet signal is lost forever.
Every single turn is a tactical puzzle. You will roll action dice and assign them to move, navigate hazardous asteroid fields and nebulae, and fire back at relentless enemy swarms.
Dynamic Ship Building: Your ship sheet is a tactical blueprint. You will draw and layout new compartments directly onto your grid. Want more firepower? Build a new weapon block. But remember... everything requires Energy.
Brutal Damage Penetration: Shields aren't invincible. When an enemy strike punches through, the damage penetrates your hull in straight vectors, taking down systems, blowing up modules, and causing cascading failures.
Sector Exploration & Encounters: Navigating through star systems isn't just about survival - it's a journey. You will spend action dice to explore unique sector objects, trigger randomized events, and complete crisis events. Will you risk entering a dangerous astroid field for a chance to recover fuel, or scavenge an old wreck while your O2 is running low? Every map is a tactical risk-vs-reward choice.
I have packaged a complete introductory experience that you can print out at home right now. It includes:
The Quick Rules & Turn Reference: A streamlined, autonomous guide that walks you through all 5 phases of a turn, map hazards (Asteroids & Nebulae), and combat rules.
The Core Ship Sheet: Your command center grid for building modules, allocating dice, and tracking hull breach points.
4-Map Intro Campaign: Four unique star system maps featuring escalating difficulty curves and dynamic enemy groups.
What you need to provide: Just a printer, a pencil, and a handful of standard six-sided dice (d6).
I intended for this first campaign to be accessible, but it is mechanically designed so that your ship should take hits and lose hull integrity in every system you visit. Do not panic if you suffer a total system failure on your first run - it’s a roguelike, and space is a cold, unforgiving place!
As an indie developer, your feedback is my most critical asset. I want to make FSL the tightest, most engaging PnP experience possible, and I need your help to polish the balance.
Once you’ve played through a sector or two, please take 2 minutes to let me know how it felt:

Thank you so much for your immense patience and support. Grab your dice, print your sheets, and let's see if you can survive the black.
Fly safe, captain!
